Peak performance and being in the zone are
the desires of every athlete and the people
who support their success. Not knowing how to
find the flow to enter the zone is frustrating,
discouraging and leads to inconsistency
in performances and competition. Peak performances
and the zone always first happen in the athletic
mind. They are not the result of training,
coaching, or especially pep talks and desire.
In the personal mind of every athlete is the
potential for great success but most coaches,
athletes, and parents do not know how to tap
the power of the athletic mind.
A different paradigm based on knowing
your potential and using mental skills to prepare
and perform athletically can improve confidence,
maximize capabilities, and increase enjoyment.
With three decades of experience working with
athletes, coaches, teams, and parents, I have
discovered what works to achieve peak performances
consistently and confidently. My approach
to sport psychology brings together my knowledge,
training and especially extensive experience
working with athletes in almost every sport
to her work. I apply it all to peak performance,
team dynamics, purposeful leadership, and enjoying
the athletic experience using the Success
ParadigmI have developed. The emphasis
in this model is on success not winning, on
purpose not goals, and on effective results
not superiority. The results match the
capabilities of athletes with what is possible
for them at any given time. This paradigm
uses the Mental Essentials, which are four mental
skills plus routines that athletes use to prepare,
intervene, and evaluate their performances.
The paradigm emphasizes personal responsibility
and accountability for knowing and increasing
an athlete's capabilities. I teache and
guides athletes in using their mental skills
to open a clear path between the mind and physical
skills execution. These skills are also used
for learning and changing skills and increasing
confidence in current skills. The same paradigm
can be utilized with teams and coaches to build
mental toughness and team toughness. Not
only to athletes perform at their potential
but so do teams and coaches.
The Success Paradigm can be learned and
utilized through individual and team consulting
with me or presentations and workshops.
It can also be learned from the articles, books,
books, and audio programs available here. If
you want to have peak performances, have them
consistently, and most importantly enjoy them,
the Success Paradigm can provide the
information, support, and strategies to do it.
